Our Quilting Crew has been busy busy busy and we will see the fruits of their labors on September 11th as we Bless the quilts. They will be taken to the Fireside Room to be packed in boxes and sent off along with all the Health Care kits you have been collecting items for, on Saturday morning at 7:30 a.m. September 24th.
How can YOU help???
- Transport quilts to the Fireside room after the 10 am church service September 11 and box up for an hour…bring muscles!
- Help load Health Care kits and quilts onto a truck Friday evening September 23 from 6:30 – 7:30. All boxes 40 pounds and lighter.
- Help DELIVER on Saturday September 24th at 7:30 am to 12th and Mt Vernon. The truck will need to be unloaded and then loaded into the boxcars so they can be off to Maryland and then on to needed parts of the US and world.
“Imagine the comfort that comes from a hug at the time when you need it most. That’s the feeling you can share with an LWR Quilt. Through a simple combination of fabric and thread, you can reach out to people in their time of greatest need with a strong message of hope — you are not alone. First and foremost, recipients use their LWR Quilts to shield against the cold and rain, and for warm bedding. But they are also used as tents, floor coverings, or a wrap to hold a baby on a mother’s back.” Lutheran World Relief
